    Hi all,
This is the Unic No. 4/5 lamp. A 500/600 Cp mantle is easily filled with a bright light so with four air intake tubes I believe this is the 800 CP version. Equipped with the tank and frame of the Unic No. 8 this lamp head would form the Unic No. 13 lamp. I used a spare Unic No. 9 tank as a pressure source. The glass shade is not original but the replacement works well and looks good. A nice lamp in a good condition.

These Unic lamps are very well made lamps with good quality parts and simple engineering burner wise. I am a bit puzzled with the double numbering for this lamp. There are very little paperwork’s on these lamps but it may be that simple that it has to do with light output performance. Most Unic lamps is 400 CP rated with three air intake tubes, but there are also 800 CP rated lamps with four air intake tubes, like mine. My lamp may therefore be the Unic number 5 and an eventually (400 CP) number 4 may not be shown separately in the Unic pamphlet sheet.

Jeff, you will have one, one of these days. They turn up on the Bay now and then.

Hello Conny, I hope to find hollow wire lamps and fittings locally, as they were used in some of the mansion houses here, Jeff.
