W. Kopsen and Co. Envelopes

    Here are two envelopes from W. Kopsen and Co. Pty Ltd. (Sydney, Australia). Kopsen was the "K" in Kayen.

    I think it's interesting that the price of postage had doubled between 1948 and 1955.

    Nice envelopes BTW. ;)

    I noticed that as well. Post war economic reajustment: the price of postage being directly regulated by the Government.

    Postage now in Australia is pitiful for standard mail is $1,00 and I have had mail from Sydney- Albury take close to 10 days if you want 1-2 day it is $1.50

    That's a bit of a steep increase. If you adjust for the CPI, threepence in 1955 is now worth 44 cents.
