I have a fairly new looking Coleman Dual Fuel lantern arriving shortly via eBay, silver grey tank, twin mantle version and I'm wondering....

Do I have to buy Coleman mantles - #21 I think - or can I use alternatives. If you can use alternatives (which are cheaper by a huge degree), which ones and what do I look out for? The fettle box sells ones suitable for Petromax and Petromax copies but I can't see any reference to Coleman lantern mantles.

It hasn't arrived yet so this is the sellers photo. I paid £16.50 for it and it's destined to be a workhorse, not a display item.

When I finally receive the lamp, I'll be buying some of the 2C-HG mantles.
