Coleman Air-O-Lantern circa 1919/20. Overall condition is nice. If you look closely in the second photo you'll notice the collar stamping is upside down!

    Note: collar stamping.

I saw one where the perforations were laterally transposed so the word 'Coleman' appeared as mirror writing. The only way that could happen is if the flat perforated plate had been rolled the wrong way to form the collar. It belonged to Bart Meijer...

I knew Bart years ago when he had the BBL site. Talked to him numerous times on the phone! Don't know what happened to him. I think he got out of the lantern hobby.
I have a Coleman 202 with a double stamped font. Things happen...

I kind of lost touch with Bart. After lamps he went onto chillies and there is at least one YouTube clip of him and his daughter sampling chilli chocolate. Then I heard he went to Croatia or somewhere growing stuff (chillies?) on a smallholding - something like that anyway...

He called me up from time-to-time, usually about 1.00am when I had work in the morning!

That's interesting because the last time I talked with him he and his son were growing different varieties of potatoes!
I know he had his share of personal problems. Could not help but like the guy...
