I'm now in a position to begin packing and posting the last few items - many thanks for your patience, folks, if your lantern's in the final batch. I've begun contacting the remaining recipients with details of how to complete matters and aim to finish that today.

I received a great suggestion earlier this week and that was to have a mass light-up of Trevor's stuff and show the results here. This was particularly timely because it would have been Trevor's birthday later this month - unfortunately I can't remember the exact date but it was the 22nd-24th (I'll find out). That'll give everyone a couple of weeks to fettle their lanterns. Even if you got unlit items and don't want to light them (and Trevor wouldn't want you to! :) [-X), you could do a quick polish and take a photograph for the forum. I'll include myself in this because I also got a lantern from Trevor that had great significance for us and which brings back very happy memories...

    What does the team think..?

In memory of a fellow collector. You inspired many and we are all thankful. Rest in peace, my friend.

What a great idea. It's going to be a tad tight to get Trevor's FL6 going by then but I can post shots of it in mid restoration if that is acceptable.

Whatever you like, Bob - take a quick photograph of it now on the tripod and post it on the day. Anything, really.

But it's reminded me to take a 'before' photograph of my item, although I know it's going to be a very light touch fettle - as mine almost always tend to be... :)

Well I've asked the question but had no reply as of yet. Maybe I should telephone his son and see if that brings a result.

The family history website I use can tell me only that he was born in the fourth quarter of 1949 in the Stockton-on-Tees registration district - all of which I knew already. If anyone has a full membership of a better site e.g. Ancestry, perhaps they could do a quick search and let me know.

Failing all else, perhaps we could do the light-up on Sunday, 22nd November which, if it's not the actual day, will be as near as damnit...

I don’t have one of Trevor’s lamps but am happy to light up in his memory if that’s ok
