I fired up these 3 for a bit of a photo op, plus check out the Tilley because I suspected a leak. Sure enough there is a slight leak from the tank/control cock seal which I have not long replaced. They look nice together, and the 305 gives off a nice bright yellowish light because theres an old Vapalux mantle in that one.
I've never understood how that collar around the control cock is supposed to work. Mind you, I've never bothered to try to find out - one day, maybe, when I need to fix one...
@David Shouksmith Schoolboy error there....I had accidently put the old washer back in! . I managed to work out the collar to clock the control knob spindle to where I wanted it to point.
David I did explain how the two pieces work together to locate the control cock the last time you said that... I might need the illustrated version this time. Interestingly, yesterday I was solving a problem about a burner on an Aladdin stove and realised that the correct clocking of the burner, so the the control shaft lines up with the spindle, is achieved in the same way. Cheers Tony
