With a heavy heart it has been announced that another TT motorcycle rider has lost his life on the notorious TT Isle of Man ciircuit ... there have been THREE fatalities THIS WEEK , a Welshman, a Frenchman and now a Northern Ireland man .. How long must this be allowed to continue ? There are some more continued days of motorcycle racing this week on the infamous Isle of Man racing circuit ... Of course the TT bring much pleasure to many and handy income for the residents and business ventures .. but at this cost ? There has been 263 deaths of riders of motorcycles there since records began 1911. review .. the riders keepi returning some will not and others will never .. Thank you for the learned members contribution to this post .. it has been fact checked and it is correct however no one one in or around a motor vehicle expected to die in 2021 .. nobody does.. TT motorcyclists know the dangers and all the risks death looks them in the face as they hurtle around the Island at incredulous speeds they do not expect to die but win the race and survive .. three have not. why ? .. the Island recing circuit is too dangerous .. Unbelievably the official race organisers got the wrong name of the poor deceased Frenchman .. imagine the impact on his families survivor / deceased... what a shower / organisors .. shame on them pull the plug on these races .. review TT organisers announced wrong rider as dead in crash
Yes they do and they accept them. It's their choice / decision to race not ours. It most certainly is not ! It's a feature of the landscape, it doesn't move, anyone could walk, ride, drive, or even roller skate around the circuit any day of the week any week of the year (except when the races are being held) with impunity. What makes you say that it's dangerous ?

There have been excellent contributions on the aforementioned topic and of course everybody has thier own considered viewpoint... of course these roads are normal roads and used by normal Manxmen and women in thier daily lives.. in that context they are never dangerous and such law abiding folk go about journeys on the island with out difficulties ... now take a TT motorcycle rider who will go flat out if he can to aquire the fastest time .. he will use all the road , left right centre, missing walls with his crash helmet , spectat

I’m with @Rangie the participants know the risks, the track and the history of accidents and the deaths, yet they still go and race. It’s their passion and they have elected to literally take their lives in their hands. It’s surely up to the riders to decide whether the track is too dangerous and if they decide it is, then they can boycott the race and that hasn’t appeared to have happened yet. Perhaps the spectators to this event should be just that and if they don’t agree or like it, don’t watch it. Just my view. Pete
The IOM TT Races are unique. Sections of the course are very dangerous, of that there is no doubt. As @Rangie points out, the riders know exactly what they’re signing up for. Like all motorsports, there’s an element of risk and we must take care not to legislate this endurance event of existence. Also, if you haven’t experienced TT week on the island, it may be difficult to understand why riders continue to risk their lives on this demanding circuit and spectators continue to support it.
