A testament to quality right there. Some lamps nearly a century old and working perfectly.

    Good choice!

They were the best in this businness.
Atleast when it came to lanterns (i.e not necessarily as in lamps)

Oh, well, perhaps not as good as the Swedish brands, so let's say; second best... ;)

But still; Petromax is the thing when it comes to lanterns internationally. Most others are just mere copies.

If it was me being in the market for a Petromax or Petromax style lantern, I'd only be looking at German or Portuguese made lamps. Still readily available used but prices are climbing all the time.

I agree witch @eiremax : look for a Petromax ex "bundewehr", thos ein the metal box. Make sure, when looking for one like that, that you get the box with the "lid" opening at the front. Those are the best, most stable versions.
Later on the made the boes which only open at the top, mostly in combination with the Heinze Geniol lanterns.

Well standart answer: what may it cost?
There was a time that these where sold at army surplus shops for around 100euro. But people have internet and sites like this may get people to think they have the rarest lantern made from gold.
