Hello. I have a few questions about this lamp. What does the original hat look like for it? What time period was it produced? No number is indicated on the lamp. I have the original globe, but missing the hat, which enough is hard to find. Thanks in advance. Tom
Hi @Tom Pedersen You will find pictures of that lantern here in the reference gallery (e. g. this one). The cap is missing very often as it is only held by a bayonet catch. The glass has the same diameter as for Petromax 300 - 500 CP, but is slightly higher, and nearly impossible to come by. The lantern should have a stamping on the tank bottom which indicates its manufacturing date (month/year). Due to the handwheel I'd guess that it is an early pre-war version.
Hello. @Martin K. Thanks for the answer. I have the original globe with the DITMAR logo. If there is someone on the site who has a cap that fits the lamp, I would like to buy it. Possibly also a donor lamp. What CP is this lamp? Sincerely Tom
You should take good care of that, and don't use the lantern as a workhorse (which it definitely could be if maintained well). These lanterns are rated 300 HK. You can find a document on that lantern here in the reference section.
