    Hello.
    I have many Tilley X 246- X246A and X245B pressure lamps, but have never been faced with the fact that I can't get them to work correctly until now.
    I have replaced all the vashers and vapouriser and the burner.
    I have also had it in a bucket of water, and it is tight.
    What could be the problem. See photo.
    Any advice is gratefully received.

    Hi @Wim
    Thanks for your reply
    I have tried several vaporisers from other lamps where they work, but apparently not in this one.

    Tom, the camera often lies, is the mantle actually clean or is it sooted ??

    As you know very well the pressure needed and the preheat time, I'm thinking either deteriorated burner, something loose in the burner or blocked fuel pick up.
    Blocked pickup is my bet.

    @Tom Pedersen

    Hi Tom,
    Good advice for you there :thumbup:

    I too would have tried other vapourisers first..

    Carefully take off the hood and burner and have a look to see if any of the air tubes are loose? Quite tricky as you don’t want to damage the mantle but it might be that.

    Hope you can get it sorted :thumbup:

    p.s. did you try a pre burn without a mantle?

    regards
    pb

    Thank you very much for all your good advice.
    Unfortunately it didn't work for me until you borrowed a top from an X246A.

    Sounds like an issue with the burner?

    @podbros
    I'm sure you're right, but I don't see anything unusual about it.

    It might look OK from the outside but probably has blocked air intakes or within the burner body itself...

    Have you tried using a cotton wool bud to clean out the air tubes.? :-k
