I acquired this lantern from a local collector recently. It's almost the same as a Radius 102 except an never-seen screw quick lighter. I don't know this model before, very few info can be found on internet. It's quite strange why Radius didn't produce much 105 long time ago.

Thanks Conny, That 105 in 1939 catalogue has a different pre-heater(which is the same as the one on Radius 115).
I found one Radius 105 with same pre-heater here : Primus Träffen 2007
But still have no info such as production year and why Radius stop using this pre-heater.

This is an interesting one. From what I have heard, the quick starter with the screw end is the first variation that only lasted a very short while. This lack of "Ltd" on the tank would tend to agree with this. that then creates a problem with the top and the wheel. These are both from later (1950s).

An interesting topic. Many years ago, I acquired a Radius 106 with one of these rapid pre-heaters.
I don't know if it is original to the lantern as the tank is stamped Radius Ltd.

A long story short, the lantern was - and still is - a wreck. Petromax pump knob and valve wheel, frame for the glass has been altered, stripped threads on vapouriser jamb nut . . . . the list goes on but still, I just had to play with the pre-heater.
Replacing the rotten gland packing and clearing the blocked jet was easy. The fuel feed tube was missing but a piece of 3 mm copper tube made a suitable tempory replacement. The troubles started when i tried to put the pre-heater back into the tank.
Problem 1: The pump tube was in the way of the fuel tube.
Problem 2: If I bent the fitting in the tank so that the fuel tube would go past the pump tube, the angle of the flame from the pre- heater would be too far from vertical and much of the heat would go straight past the generator and into to the glass.

I made some alterations and used some plastic tube which would flex as I screwed the pre-heater into the tank.

Here is the pre-heater, there should be a needle to clean the atomiser every time the valve is closed
but it has broken off. The wheel is held onto the valve stem with a split pin, the small nut at the bottom of the image is just used as a spacer between the wheel and split pin.
