I think this is a side effect of the CPL V2 site upgrade. It only affects certain users and is easily remedied by updating your screen name.
You can contact the admins for assistance if needed.

 

Sloppy administration of the site

 

Easy to criticize. When you consider the magnitude and complexity of the task of migrating the user base and content to a new platform, I would say that it actually went rather well.
I see that you do not allow fellow members to view your profile. Why is that?

The issue was had been flagged on the previous site for quite some time and the fix was given. Ross, @spiritburner, should be able to fix this up as soon as he's awake (in the UK).

Right back at you. The issue of certain users logins becoming their screen names was mentioned in the upgrade progress thread by the admin. If I understand correctly, it seems there was no global fix available prior to going live and the issue would be fixed manually on a case by case basis.

 

I don't think it should happen to anyone.

Very basic security issue.

 

I just had a look through the member list and it seems there are only a very few member names/screen names that are email addresses and these have all been munged to prevent address harvesting by bots. Was this not so in your case too?

This was brought up over a year ago on the old site & reminders posted in recent months with a new sticky post with a HUGE request at the top of the site for members to read the post. You visited the site during the time the warning was there.

You now login as your display name. Apologies for the inconvenience caused.

 

Oh - BTW - storm in a tea-cup. Without an @ it's not an email address. Not even a substitute 'AT'. It was a domain name.
