Good Day My name is Johan, I am from South Africa and am the proud owner of a working Optimus 930 350CP and nearly working Tilley TL-146 IP. I have been sneaking around here fervently absorbing information about pressure lamps for a few weeks now. I have many questions, but realize that searching historical posts will answer most of them. Old pressure lamps are very hard to come by in South Africa, and parts are even more of an issue. I will post photos of my lamps in the gallery section. Let the lamps shine, and not stay hidden in cellars.
Welcome Johan Having just come back from the Western Cape, there were a good number of vintage and junk stores with pressure lamps and stoves fro sale. Even under the matrimonial gaze, I found quite a few. So keep an eye open. rural districts where mains electrification came more recently can be good.
Thanks for the thumbs up Ian. I found the Optimus around Cape Town while on holiday, but have not found any gems in Polokwane where I am from, but I'm on the lookout
