Optimus 1200

    Nickel plated 200 CP lantern with the manometer combined with the filling lid.
    There is no quickstarter on this one unlike what you generally expect to find on this model.
    There's not even a plugged hole in the tank for it. But the cut out in the globe rest is there...

    These are also a bit of a mystery. From what I know, they all come from military surplus so are likely a special production from Optimus. I could understand them using a 1200 tank then blocking off the quickstarter, but stamping a 200 tank as a 1200 is strange. One possibility was that it was a mistake in porduction and a number of these tanks were produced. Optimus obviously couldn't sell them to the public, so using them on a military order was a way of getting rid of them without a loss.
