Hi all, A old timer Aida No 214N in action. After changing the graphite seal of the needle control. With 10 pump strokes this lantern give a perfect job Thank for sharing. Regards, Titoo
BigStevie, With hand scratching 19 on the bottom and the machining 8 over the tank: 1930s Aida No 214N I think 1938 or 1939 Thank for your interest. Regards, Titoo.
@Titoo 19 is January 1939 The 8 on the tank has only roughly something to do with age. Almost all tanks from Petromax and Aida from1935 to 1940 had these 8 on top. I think a part or control number. Regards Reinhard
Hi Reinhard, I am happy with the informations Again much to learn about our lanterns. Regards, Titoo.
Beautiful setup. I don't have any of the early(original) Aidas. I mean those produced by Hirschhorn before they merged into or acquired by the Graetz or E+H company.
You need some luck to find pristine lanterns that would be made before ww2. And for the record : any pristine old lantern that is. They where sold and bought to be used.
