We lost our last ferret this morning. We've had ferrets for the last seven years but this morning, Milky succumbed to his adrenal problem and had to take his last trip to the vet. The children were still living with us when we first bright them home and we watched as they raced around the living room chortling and play fighting with each other. They kept us amused for hours as they dug their way inside the sofas, dug up the potted plants, terrorised the cats and caused no end of mayhem. We didn't mind though. Milky hasn't been well for a year or so now and hasn't really played much but we gave him cuddles every night and then fall asleep on my tote bag and snore. Now he's with his ferrety mates, Elodie and Burns, racing around an impossibly huge and comfy room with endless sofas, huge plant pots and loads of food. We'll miss you little friend and be sure to say hi to the others for us.
Losing a pet is an extremely painful experience for pet parents, but it can be even more difficult to cope with when the death is unexpected. RIP Milky
