My 6th Collection Philip 500 CP Super Dear CPL Lovers One more find from the locall flea market. Again my Question is 1. Country of Manufactured 2.Year of Manufacturing
This is another one I was not aware of which I will have to add to the list. I have a Phillips listed which is by Gupta Light House India. The stype of script on the tank is the same and it also has an eagle logo although not the same as yours. As normal the age is very difficult with these. The design style of the Petromax type lanterns has not changed in the past 80 years. It could be as old as 1930s or as late as the 1990s. ::Neil::
This Phillip (no 's' in the end) also has the blue plastic cover on the handle as Neil describe for the Phillips in the PLC. I assume we should assume that this one also is made in India, so I can move it to the Reference Gallery?
Yes missing the S as you say. We can't be sure but the similarity of the script, the use of an eagle logo and a very similar name do all suggest the same manufacturer. A plastic bail cover is a common feature of Indian made lamps as well. There is also the fact that this was found in India so I don't think it has travelled far. Given all that I do believe it is an Indian lamp. ::Neil::
