Just got this one home, it was full of fuel in the box and there was a new mantle tied on it, so I thought I might as well see if it would light. First time, perfect. Not sure about the orange plastic bits, might see if I can change the pump knob at least. I’ll make a nice brass or stainless one and keep the plastic one somewhere safe.
Nice find, but why remove the plastic pump knob? In my experience they don't break all that easy. They really "show off" the lantern, in my opinion. A fine example of a well built lantern!
Just not that keen on the colour, reminds me of the Chinese Anchor lamps. I might not bother, once it finds its home on my shelf I’ll probably forget about it.
