That two piece black and red control is from early production so your lamp is probaby from the 1960s. A very nice old find. ::Neil::

The company was Casa Hipolito SARL, Apartado No 6, Torres Vedras, Portugal. Started by António Hipólito in 1900 they made wick lamps and pressure stoves for many years. The company bought out Fama in 1956 which is when they started to make lanterns. From about 1974 they also made Petromax and possibly Aida lanterns up to the mid 1990s. Hipolito ceased trading in 1999. ::Neil::
