    Hi all.

Been stuck with my Maxim/Optimus frankie.

The NRV was not holding pressure. I just can't get the rotten thing apart to change the pip.

Have tried force, heat, long soak in ATF, and combinations of all three.

Any other suggestions or offers of swaps/trades?

I am slowly destroying this part bit by bit. 20190914_100800.jpg

Check that it’s not a left hand thread...

I have a thought in the back of my mind that there are other makes with a Left hand thread on the NRV. Just a niggle but I think maybe some Hasag or Aida also did this. It makes no sense though. There is no mechanical reason to do that for this application. It is not a moving part and normally LH threads were only used to counter a rotating torque. ::Neil::

Most of my Hasags have a left hand thread on the NRV. The NRVs of the three Aidas I have, have a right hand thread.

I'm just about to dismantle a Ditmar Maxim, very fortuitous thread.....

@Rangie Exercise caution, there's no guarantee the NRV has left hand threads. I have examples of both left hand and right hand threaded NRVs on my Ditmar lanterns.

    Henry.
