First lighting of my recently acquired Bialaddin 310 resplendent with new glass. A very easy restoration needing only a seal kit, glass and mantle. I rather like this lamp as it feels solid and well constructed if maybe not quite as bright as one of my Tilleys.
Looking good! How old is that lamp? Are parts/spares still available or do you have to salvage from other models/makes?
I reckon it dates from 1953/54. I obtained the glass and mantles from Base Camp and the seals from Fettlebox. I don't know how easy other parts are to come by.
The Bialaddin 310 is my favorite of the Bialaddin lanterns. I'll take these over a Tilley, well not the PL53 Tilleys!
Just noticed something... Is that by any chance an original T5 globe? The bottom edge looks rounded. I know the 805 is sort of a replacement but it has a "ridge" around the botton. This one doesn't look like it has that ridge or lip.
No, not an original globe. The lamp came with an original but it has a hairline crack in it. This was sourced from Base Camp.
