    Hi all,

I've done a quick search but couldn't find any information regarding the model or country of manufacture etc, are they a decent lantern or an inferior copy?

    Thanks.

these links may be of use:

    OR-MA lantern

    A couple of Chinese

I think the consensus is that the quality is quite good. Things to look for are flaking plating, particularly at the bottom edge of the fount, and rust (if the construction is steel)

Being a complete tight wad, that sort of money is way beyond what I'm prepared to pay but it does look like a nice lantern. The thing is, having just paid £25 for a genuine Petromax, I'd baulk at shelling out nearly twice as much for a clone but that's just me!

I have two Or-Ma plated brass founts with severe stress cracks. The globe cages also tend to crack. Some have Glory branded lower vaporisers. Some have the Primus type pump plunger design and others have an o-ring pump plunger. One with the o-ring pump plunger had a cracked pump tube.
Apart from that they are quite decent.
