Hipolito H-301

    Is there a way if determining year of manufacture of this Hipolito H-301? Thanks!

    Look on the base. The same as Petromax, Hipólito often came with a date code on the bottom of the tank. Youre lantern has not seen much use, looks good!

    Its got 3518 stamped on the base. What date would that be?

    It sat new for many years in an old hardware store, owner said he could not get it to work properly. Some day I will attempt to light it up. 20191029_085818.jpg 20191029_085708.jpg

    Any links to deciphering the Hipolito date code?

    I do not think that the 4digit code of Petromax lanterns from 60ties applies to the Portuguese lantern applies.

    See, for the Petromax lanterns , the 4th digit was the day of the week. No week has 8 days....
