Hi there. Saw this on a certain auction site, advertised as a Petromax 828.

What is the tube that seems to be poking out of the pre heat cup? Next to the rapid heater. Any info would be appreciated, thanks!

It holds kind of a little pilot flame for a short while after the spirit has burned out in the preheating cup itself.

Cool! Are these collectable at all? Or worthy of being added to a collection? It’s on the other side of the world from me but I like it!

That is enough of a reason to add it to your collection.:lol::lol:

It's a Graetz, so not old.
Pre is that all the parts are still available.

As for me, living at the oposite side from you: I only would buy it for parts, unless it is in pristine condition with box etc.
To many around here to spend serious money.

The tube brings a higher flame in direction top of the vaporizer.
The preheating result is better, especially for "Wendel Vergaser".

    Regards Frank

    there are however two versions:
    1) with an extra pipe piece going down under the fixation plate.
    2) ending at the bottom of the cup.
Both have a small hole for the spirit to enter the tube.

I have never seen a patent about these btw.
