Im curious did Tilley ever catalogue the TL13 - TL14, if not were they thrown together as a makeshift lamp used by the Airforce. What do we actually know about TL13 - TL14 and was it an official listed Tilley Lamp ? Dose anyone have offical Tilley documentation in a catalogue or brochure. Last of all are these Tilleys quite Common. Kind Regards Darren
TL13 here: https://classicpressurelamps.com/threads/how-to-recognise-parts-for-your-tilley.1520/ Tony
Thankyou Tony but i cant see a photo of it with the handle pictured with the other lamps listed. Also what do you know about these lamps and what were they used for. Regards Darren
They were official Tilley issue - see p24 in Jim Dick's book - and differed only in their globe/shade arrangements i.e. TL13 had an opal shade and no glass globe whereas TL14 came with the glass globe and no shade. In the early '30s, only the TL14 was offered and the shade was an optional extra. TL 13 was listed in the 1934 catalogue (it says here - obviously my own knowledge is nowhere near as encyclopaedic as this...). Hope that helps...
Love how the advert that Anthony posted say “Tilley lamps are made only at Herndon, England”. This might have something to do with the fallout between Tilley and with the Kayen makers in Australia. Cheers Pete
