They are nice lamps Adam. The mantle shown in the glass however is a Tilley mantle, not for that lamp. Steve.

He's from Sunderland so give the lad a break - he probably still hasn't got over the match last Saturday!

I assume you've already paid for it...

It might just arrive unannounced in the next couple of days. Some of those eBay sellers aren't the greatest of communicators.

If I hadn't been so pushed for time at the moment, I could have collected that for you and probably sent it cheaper - £12 is a bit steep for P+P in my book...

Hello David, it depends on which service is being used, ParcelForce used to offer a trackable service within the UK., for £9.99, they now charge £12.75 for it!

The PO's., standard parcel service for a lantern would still be under a tenner, but not by much and it's not trackable, Jeff.

Could be wrong here, Jeff, but lately I think I've generally been paying around £8.70 or so for postage on one lantern...

Hello David, that sounds correct for the post office's standard parcel service, Jeff.

    Hi All!

Well im glad its arrived safe and sound!

    Postage was something like £9.75.

As the postage on ebay was £12 i took this into consideration on my bidding,

Anyway is seems very good condition will post a picture later

    Thanks alot

Yaaay! Glad baby is safe in your happy hands :)

Postage can certainly be a deal-killer on eBay or any distant purchase. I buy books from amazon.co.uk only because they aren't released in the U.S.

Looking forward to more pictures (and video?) of your lantern!

    Doh, Thanks David,

I hope the NRV in the pump unscrews easily?

Have a feeling may have a bit of trouble with that...

    Thanks

You shouldn't have any problem if you use a big enough screwdriver with a nice wide, sharp blade...

Well i bought a new screwdriver as i lost the old one, I did managed to get out the NRV very easily really.

With this lamp i have a funny feeling someone had it and tried to restore it but never got around to changing the washers as every one i touched fell apart,

The tank smells like gone off petrol, perhaps the owner washed it out with it?

I cant wait now to get the new washers and the mantle,

    Cheers
    Adam
