242/B from Jan/1948

Thanks to HV @MrAlexxx I am now the proud owner of this nice 242/B.
(The globe is borrowed from my 200A)

It needed an overhaul (cleaning tank, generator, new seal etc) and some elbow grease, but apart from that - No problems.
Its going to look nice beside my 247/Scout. Thank you Alex, I am indeed gratefull for your generousity in helping me here!

Well done and a very nice example, Canadian made in January 1948.
These are very solid performers and yours looks to be the same.

It's working well!

 

Harder...it turned out really nice! That is about as shiny as one could ever expect for a lantern over 70 years old. A really good example. Enjoy it.

I'd reckon that's one of Coleman's best mades even though I don't have one.
I'll have to admit that nothing beats elbow grease when it comes to restoring old items.

 

@Harder Sorensen , very nice lantern! hope you'll fall deeper in to the lanterns addiction with it and it's not the last one.

 

Mine is a 1 48 as well, so I can confirm the fine quality
of this lamp. Enjoy it.
