Last night was crazy! It started early evening yesterday and it hasn't quite stopped yet. Gale force winds, torrential rain, hail that was so hard I was worried the windows might smash and a thunderstorm right overhead! We're surrounded by trees so all night twigs and branches kept hitting the roof and the Velux windows upstairs. At 3 in the morning we got up and watched the madness for a while before turning in again but not much sleep happened! Anyone else have it rough last night?
@ColinG Glad to see that you’re OK. Hope others in your area are OK too. Mother Nature can really dish it out when has a mind to. Cheers Pete
It’s a bit breezy in Sheffield at the moment but nothing too damaging,Yet...I’ll have to check the greenhouse in the morning. Take care.
Lots of rain, gusts of wind, will get slightly worse during the night/in the morning. Nothing to be really scared of (it is always a bit worse at the coast so they might have some damage over there). The Missus likes this kind of weather!
I lost the tops off a couple of trees. The wind didn’t endure as long as it did with you Colin, though the rain has been proving its persistence....
Quite blowy here on the East coast, a few bits of twigs and stuff down but nothing like you had Colin. Hope your treehouse survived it. Nice bright morning now.
Nothing much here in N.E. England last night- cool and a bit breezy but that's all. We've had a bright sunny morning and afternoon with little wind. Now there's a completely clear sky and very cold as a consequence with a ground frost expected tonight. Bugger all really...
It's been lovely and sunny today but it's meant to get back to again on Tuesday. Time to batten down the hatches!
Ok Colin .. just get out there and check your wood store ..did it stand up to the storm.. needs a good breeze to season the timber .. a few trees swaying about here in Murkyside but nothing as much as you have had in the cold frozen North ..
The treehouse has a small leak - it always has - but it's still there. I need to get up there and see how it's holding up internally.
Sunday night was bad here. We had a length of barge board ripped off during the dark hours and not discovered until light. Hey ho, it goes with the location I suppose.
It’s getting rough here again this afternoon, the skies darkened and the barometer nose dived! Fire lit and hatches secured...
