Really great line up nice to see all the colours together like that you have the full colour range most of us dont have one You taking them to Newark to risky nice shades too Pete
Hi Pete lets see what the weather is like I'm not worried about transporting them but if it's going to be wet and windy I won't take them, this year was perfect weather, the line up is thanks to Dave, Kenny, Elgin auction house and mick oh and my arse pocket of course which took a serious beating to acquire these wonderful ladies.
Impressive. Very impressive. Thanks for showing them. As for your question "Is this the first time they have all Tilley vl1s have been seen together?" I don't know but I'll be watching the thread to see if anyone knows of another.
Wow! interesting to note* that blue & black versions are slightly bigger, or is that a picture perspective thing? We can only dream..lol
Hmm, I seem to recognise quite a few of those! There was a difference in vase sizes as can be seen in Jim Dick's book. I'd guess that's possibly because they were hand-thrown by Henry Tooth & Co but I don't know for certain...
Nice to see them all. The burner is wrong on the black one of course because black was only sold in 1938 and 1939 and that silent burner was long obsolete by then. The one thing I have yet to see is the chrome plated tank. It was offered as an option and recommended for the black vase. I see there are a couple of Kite vases there as well. ::Neil::
@willethesteam Exceptional! I look forward to seeing mor gems displayed at Newark in 2020, if not these. Regards Jeremy
Just wonder which one(s) the owner won at Elgin, almost certainly outbidding me. I know it wasn’t the green one. As for me being green, not at all, now that this person has the full set prices will be much lower from now on. Won’t they?
@willethesteam I’m still reeling over your Dietz street lamp at Newark this year Dave, then you come up with the Tilley array! John
I know, I know, this is not pressure but a wicky related subject; however, but this is a real beauty! I bought my Dietz street light probably 25 years ago and it is this terrible gray color! Still love it!!!
WOW!! ....... just WOW!! ....... all those Tilley VL1s and the colours, shades ...... I gotta lie down for a while ........ WOW!!!
