Here is my example of this lantern, the build quality is excellent and the light output is great. The filler cap was missing, so I have used an Anchor filler cap/pressure gauge, it does the job. I fitted a Solar 500cp., mantle, Jeff.
Great lantern Jeff! These arent the most aestetic lanterns to the eye in my opinion, but as you say: they give out a fantastic light when they work properly. Some of my absolutely brightest lanterns is of this family.

OOOOPS! You goofed on the description! This is a 550. The 1550 has a rapid heater. I really want one of those to complete my collection of Optimus rapid models. Hard to find in good condition. But I will keep looking. Bob
