Hi Folks .. Well I am feeling a little fed up here , so problem

.. I ordered a recon Tilley vapouriser and a lamp chimney from a known UK trader in the Norwich area ...so he says sent them wrapped and in a parcel on the 5th December... 1st class delivery and tracked .... guess what I am still waiting for it ..Royal Mail site indicates they have the parcel when I track it ... it has not been delivered XMAS eve and TBH... it looks lost ... so much for Royal Mail and I am loss for £25.00 approx.

I have Emailed Royal Mail with the relevant details tracking number , Post office where it was
accepted etc .. last week .. I have never had a reply from Royal Mail only an enquiry number ..
Folks I payed by PayPal for the cost of the lamp parts and I know that I can open a dispute.resolution
file but I would like to know should .....

I go through Royal Mail for loss ? I know its XMAS and there was the General election post ,,
    or go through Paypal. ?

Last communique from the seller was details of the tracking number ?

My little TILLEY remains unlit for XMAS ... OK this was for lamp parts but it could happen to any
parcel left with Royal Mail for delivery.. this has probably happened hundreds/ thousands .. of times.

    Merry XMAS everyone. ;)

Assuming you are based in the UK, then your dispute is with the seller. They have a responsibility to ensure you receive the goods you paid for or a full refund. It is for them to contact Royal Mail. The legislation is in The Consumer Rights Act, 2015.

Scroll down to the "Delivery Rights" section of the link below.

I sympathise with your experiences with Royal Mail Alby. I sent a parcel to Ohio, delivered to my local Post Office on 30 November and sent tracked and signed for and to date it has not been delivered.

Hi all ... the epilogue .. I could not light my little Tilley lamp on Xmas eve ... but ..

The wayward parcel arrived today... 28.12.2019 and was signed for by someone ... not me and left for me behind my green refuse bin .. out in the open which was OK ... I do not know whose signature it was .. not mine.:?:

The parcel had been opened and taped up again. flimsily. whats all that about? ... so it took from 5th December to get to me and delivered and signed for by unknown persons.. to day 28th December !!!! ... so it took all them working days for Royal Mail to do their stuff .. 1st class signed for !crap service.
sorry not as good as crap ..

. Royal Mail site said it came this morning... what an escapade, Carls wrapping / packing was absolutely impeccable and it no doubt saved it from the detective morons at Royal Mail who had to inspect a lamp glass and an ancient TILLEY vapouriser tube ...to decide to deliver it to me .. what about an X ray ? they have XRAY machines.. sniff dogs etc did they think it full of street drugs or what .. other contraband... who knows what forces of law and order have looked at my parcel .. ..????? ..:rage:

Maybe they thought it was a nice Excelsior or Rolex 2nd hand watch... or some other " objet d'art... " to nick ...thieves ..they were highly disappointed .. Only a lamp glass and a serviced an old Tilley 246 B vapouriser... allbeit my pride and joy now
    ....
Anyway its is all good and thanks ever so much again Carl Fuller ,, and Hurricannelamps of Norwich Merry XMAS to all and a happy new year to everyone

I have been celebrating the festivities with my daughter in Cornwall last week and I had a great time ..

You’re one up on me Alby, my parcel posted in local Post Office on 30 November has still not been delivered to an address in Ohio. It contains a ceramic bowl and it will be a miracle if it arrives in one piece. If it ever arrives!

Gawd bless you Jean J ...

I suppose I am very lucky here to have received in the UK and old Tilley reconditioned vapouriser and chimney glass after the awesome investigative techniques of the forces of law and order that the Royal Mail decided to inflict upon my parcel... perhaps they thought the glass chimney was a drug " "bong "... and the vapouriser.... albeit 50 years old was accompanying working drug paraphernalia ... and controlled substances were concealed within ?[-X naughty eh ?.. The pricker wire part 607 saved me from the wrath of the Royal Mail detectives ... fired up with getting a result .. probably not seen one before ...what is this ?... It is not a lovely 2nd Rolex/Seiko watch ... sorry boys .. but really determined to destroy the soundly wrapped parcel before them ... they succeeded in that ... two tapes of flimsy cellotape fixed it no problem .. innards poking out .. left for me outside my house in the wind and rain at the rear of my green refuse amenity bin .. with a " fraudulently endorsed signature" ... I did not sign it .... my neighbours neither.... a cocked up signature is on the site ... ABSOLUTE DISGRACE . SHAME ON YOU ROYAL MAIL ... after Carl paid £5.00 to send it 1 st class next day delivery .. do not believe it ... har har [-X ... There is a moron working somewhere at the Royal Mail between Norwich and St Helens... no one cares ... no reply from email to Royal Mail customer service... no one will admit it
these things happen ? No signatures on the left for you card time/date / left at rear of bin instruction .

So I could not illuminate my recon Red Tilley lamp for an outside barbeque with my family before Xmas .. hey but I have it now before New Years eve.... yay :D/ ..Thanks Royal mail for a next day delivery which took 21 days .. WHAT A FARCE

Jean you have this debacle here... and Uncle Sams brigade to contend with and if your parcel is " iffy " which mine was suspected of you have the the US Postal Secret service and customs descending on it .. ... keep us all posted .. It will be ok .. Bye
