Happy New Year one and all . I have been gathering a fair amount of fettlings lately but need some help with this hood . It came with a pork pie but I cannot find a match anywhere. Can anyone identify it please .
There is a hole in the top about 5mm dia. The metal is only just better than tin plate thick so I'm wondering if there is a full outer cover hood that is stouter / less likely to bend or buckle.
Search on this forum for pokpie tilley 246 and you get a lot of pictures. Where to find the parts? Ask here on the forum ;-)
I am certain you will find you have the correct hood but you are missing the orange enamel top it should sit with the turned down rim over the wire cage. check for pictures of other Pork Pie 246's (X246 Pork Pie Collection)
Hi Stu, Nice thing you have there, and looks to be in good shape... As others have mentioned, you will need to find an enamel cap for it. Also the curved ring cover for the burner tubes is missing...perhaps someone on here has a spare? Your'e right about the thickness ; too many got squashed, perhaps prompting a re-think by Tilley? Under X246 in the gallery Tony Press has a good picture of one, Hope this helps, and good luck pb p.s you must have quite a turn-up on your 'kecks' then?
