The longer spigot means that lantern was one which Tilley marketed as their 500 series, it used a longer mantle, but the light output was not increased, in my opinion, it was a Tilley marketing ploy to make folk think that they were selling a 500 cp., lantern.

Spares are always useful to have!

What Jeff said about the different spigot lengths.
Congratulations! ......... You’re on your way to building a collection ...... well done. The lamp bug is definitely chewing on your leg.
    Cheers

Spares are always great! I bought a ton of spares, Tilly, vapalux, Petromax, Aida, God knows Coleman, etc. I have so many now I'll never use them in my lifetime!
Still nice to know you have them when you need them!:D/

:-k or to make folk think that they were buying one, anyway!

The idea was that, although the vapouriser was the same 606 variety, the vapour output into the burner was increased by further pressurising the tank to e.g. 130 pumpstrokes. This, as we all know with the X246B tank and its crappy inverted baseplate and consequently compromised solder seam, is not a good idea... =; [-X
