    It dates from late 1954.

    Does it have any stamping on it?

    At the bottom there is made in England, and on the lamp itself Tilley England.
    I'm also interested in which Number the lamp has. (246 B, Or whatever it is now called.

    It is the last variation of the Tilley X246 before the X246A.

    You are lucky that you have the “deep” 171 glass.

    Cheers

    Thank you very much for the answers Tony.
    I am very happy with the lamp and it has a very good light.
    I have many other old pressurelamps that I look for information on,
    but we will come back to that later.

    @Tom Pedersen
    That's a very nice Tilley X246 in good condition. This lantern is sometimes referred as the "Guardsman". They're well made lanterns and, if maintained well, should give years of faithfully service.
    Cheers
    Pete
