An Excellent collection!! I think it should be a "luminiferous" of lanterns, meaning generating, yielding, or transmitting light. as opposed to "luminescence", which rolls of the tongue better but its a bit inaccurate. The definition of luminescence is light given off by something without obtaining or generating heat.

It's taken a long while to get to this stage, years of creeping things into the garage then saying I've had those for years !! Have we all done that or is it just me? My 2 new favourite toys are the HD44's in my picture, not even a service- just added fuel and away they went. Nice to know there's others out there like me who understand what a garage and shed are really for.
Keith, it's not just you. I've only started recently, but if you ask there are already there lanterns that I've had for years! The total number of lanterns in the shed has become "classified" - I'm sticking with 30 or so..... and I am chuffed that I have managed to sneak my best lantern in to the house!
