Ok. Unfortunately this event is cancelled for 2020. A lot of similar meets doing the same. Sorry to disappoint those who were planning to attend. I'm in a high risk category myself which I generally refuse to acknowledge & I appreciate so are a lot of other attendees. Hopefully we can pick up where we left off next year. If it looks like we will go through a repeat of the expected cycle next year I'll likely change the date for 2021. Let's be safe & use the self-imposed isolation to crack on with some fettling!
Lol...the enthusiasm runneth over! I know you guys play your cards close to your chest but I would have expected at least a few muted replies given the popularity of this gathering in recent years. I know there was well over 30 caravans, tents and campers last year.. The weather always seems to be kind to us and the venue is first rate. Martin
More of a response on CCS but I think that now it's established folk just turn up! We'll have a good time I'm sure!
Hi Ross, I tend to forget about the other half of the club, I'll have a look now you've pointed it out. Can't wait..
As a recent new member I'll come along and introduce myself (weather and wife permitting). Be nice to meet with other likeminded people!!
Would love to Matt but it’s a long journey. I had hoped that it would fit in with a few days we are having in Edinburgh in June to watch some cricket Internationals but there is a gap between. Pity, I could have brought down all my spares and found new homes for them and met some folks who are just names to me here on CPL. Maybe next year!
I have added a thread for a Pre-Newark gathering (with permission from Ross) thanks very much Ross. At Bateman's Brewery Campsite. Full details on that post...cheers.
The event is still hopefully going ahead but the situation will be reviewed in the coming weeks as it seems the UK peak for Coronavirus will be around this time
As much as I'd like to go and meet you all for the first time, I think the main thing to remember is safety must always come first and hopefully if we cannot meet we can meet at a later date. To everyone stay safe as we're all probably in the at risk category. Good luck everyone
I’d find an alternative date ASAP whilst they can still be found; August at the earliest, September a safer bet. It is just delaying the inevitable by sticking with May for now. I’ve just postponed a conference til September; it’s a lot less stressful when you’ve made the decision even if it is a difficult decision to make.
In the event of cancellation it's unlikely to be rescheduled in 2020. We'd hopefully just start again in 2021.
I work in the outdoor events industry, 100% of our scheduled events for 2020 have been cancelled or postponed. In reality it’s highly unlikely that any postponed events will take place this year. Stay safe everyone.
I’d have thought this a relatively easy event to postpone; presumably not much pre investment needed so mostly an issue of whether there is a suitable date available. Chances are that events will take place later in the year prior to another lock down next winter/spring. Anyway, good luck with it whatever you end up doing!

Disappointed but you're 100% doing the right thing. Be vigilant and responsible for yourselves and others, I'll be in the shed (nothing can survive in there with the paraffin fumes). My wife's priorities for shopping this weekend is paint !!
In Germany only grocery shops , supermarkets, restaurants, petrol stations and other shops for daily needs stay open. This includes DIY shops. :-) Yessss. My daily need. And if men can't work at work. They may paint the shed. Or do other useful restoration at home.
@bp4willi I’m hoping that will be the case if Australia has a lock down. I won’t want to miss the chance to reseal the flashings on the house, do some painting, weeding, etc.
