Hello folks, I've had this 237 for quite some time now so it was time to fettle it back to life. Here it is before the fettle and as can be seen it's very dirty indeed. Now it's cleaned up. While doing the fettle I found the vaporizer partially plugged so after cleaning the vaporizer I found that the jet/nipple was over sized. With a new vaporizer from oldcolemanparts it is running quite well indeed. Cheers, Norman
@Norman Good to see a reliable 237 doing its thing. Well done mate, she's looking good and pumping the light. Cheers Pete
Nice looking lantern and well fettled. I have to ask though... was there a strange logic behind Coleman's numbering system and if so, what was it? This lamp is roughly 635 or 295 sized but its number is closer to a 249 which is tiny by comparison.
@ROBBO55, @AussiePete, @ColinG, @JEFF JOHNSON, @podbros Thank you gentlemen for your very kind comments. To answer @ColinG question. To be truthful I don't know why Coleman numbered their lanterns, stoves and table lamp other then to distinguish one model from another. Sorry Colin I just don't have a very good answer for you, but I'm sure someone out there on the site or maybe someone on CCF, Coleman Collectors Forum, can answer your question. Cheers to all of you, Norman
