My local second hand charity outlet where I go quite often called to say they'd been donated 2 boxes of lantern parts they couldn't sell (because everything must be certified as 100% safe) if I was interested. Above is how I got it. Of course, I immediately unpacked them both to see exactly what I'd got... I just had to assemble the Tilley pork pie table lamp to see what it was like and it looks great! The two spare vaporisers are a little rusty but unused and the prickers both work as does the one already fitted to the lamp. The onion globe fits perfectly and the cream shade looks lovey. The Bialaddin is the original version with octagonal air buttons and a brass hood but no globe. The stove is a Primus No 5 which will clean up nicely and it even had it's original flame spreader. It's missing a pump washer but I've got one of those. The 171 globe is already in a guardsman that needed one and the blow torch is a Primus 632 in good condition. There was a load of lead solder in the bottom. All in all, I was extremely pleased, particularly with the TL106 because I didn't have a table lamp before and this one should clean up easily.
I had to brow beat them to accept anything at all... but I'm not saying how much... safe to say I got a bargain, that's for sure. And @Norman a lucky dog just about sums it up! And not just any old TL106 but an early pork pie model.
@ColinG Wow ........ Christmas came early this year. Love the pork pie table lamp, with glass shade and all ....... awesome! Some great hours of fettling in that box. Looking forward to seeing the items emerge from their restoration. Enjoy. Cheers Pete

No way. I gently washed it with warm soapy water and it was it really good Nick underneath - there's a new post I just made about it. Some of the paraffin discolouration will have to stay otherwise I'll strip the paint but honestly it looks bloody brilliant! I reckon with a few seals, washers and a mantle she'll fire up straight away.
