Does anyone fancy joining us at 'Bateman's Brewery' in a Pre-Newark gathering.
We have booked the 'Rally Field' which has room for around 15 camping units (maybe one or two more)
There is a pub on site with beer garden, showers and toilets, a visitors centre (brewery tours can be arranged) and they serve the best Sunday carvery in Lincolnshire.
The village of Wainfleet has two pubs, takeaways and a minimart all just 5 - 6 minutes walk away.
The local train station is even closer for a silly Saturday afternoon jaunt into Skegness, fish'n'chips, a stroll on the beach or perhaps a round of 'crazy golf' whatever takes your fancy.

We have permission to display our lamps and stoves as we do at Smeaton's Lakes and with more caravans & campers in the adjacent field there should be a fare bit of interest in our displays from the public (as little or as much as you want) but the area is nice and we always feel very secure when we have camped there in the past.

Price is £10 per unit per night (hook-up available at extra cost) pre-book through me.
As with Smeaton's, we will deal directly with the site, I will collect and pay altogether.

Here are a few pictures: The Rally field is situated where the two trees are in the middle of this picture.

Due to relative compactness of this 'Rally Field' (compared to Smeaton's Lakes) we have around 15 places (maybe one or two more) and the site is asking for approximate numbers, so could I please ask anyone interested to add your names to the list below. You are not fully committing yourself but I will need rough numbers in the next few weeks..cheers.
So....what do you think? we already have '5 vans booked' so it would be lovely to see you there!

Wow ..... if only I could I’d be there in a heart beat. But alas my travel would be a caveat.
    Have a great time.
    Cheers

Shame but i'm sure you guys have your own gatherings?

Just a thought: there may be a possibility to extend these dates so that members can go straight to Newark mid week (I would have to talk to Bateman's) but I can't see an issue if one or two wanted to this)

    6 vans confirmed:

    Michelle & Martin
    Tracey & Shaun
    Chris
    Lee, Lisa & boys
    Maria, Nigel & the boys
    Steven & Alana

    @paparazi

I like the idea, unfortunately for me it would add an extra hour and a half to my journey to Newark.

Myself, Nigel and David usually arrive on Tuesday at Newark anyway. Nigel I don't think will be joining us this year, but the latest I'll be there would be Wednesday.

Obviously it's up to you, but if you came to Newark on the Tuesday you wouldn't be turned away.

I understand what you are saying Matt but, this is two different weekends, two different events and I can appreciate attending both won't suit everyone..
Bateman's will be quiet different to Smeaton's and I hope members will see this as something new and exciting and if they want..come and give it a go.
Quite frankly, another opportunity to get me lamps out..lol. (no innuendo intended)
Build it and they will come.... field of dreams.
6 Campers already booked (15 peeps)

    Lee, Lisa and the boys

:-k Hmm, that's quite appealing and I suppose I need a week's holiday somewhere but it depends on the weather - I'm not much of a camper these days (not much of a lampie, either!). I might just take the risk of not booking and seeing how it goes nearer the time. The question is, where would I go Monday/Tuesday between the two events.

Who are all those people? - I don't recognise any of the names! Can I have nicknames, photographs or even surnames, please...

I did mean after your event, not instead of. Just so you knew that people are there before Wednesday anyway as you mentioned possibly having to extend that stay so you could travel straight to Newark midweek.

David, you have met Shaun and his wife Tracey, me and Michelle, we were camped next to you last year. The others on the list are good friends of yours, you just haven't met them yet . :D:D/
I'll keep people posted when or if it gets close to capacity..
Matt, Newark is the main event..xxx

:-s :? Well, now you've got me proper confused because I didn't camp last year - Trevor and I drove down for the Saturday only and didn't camp. The previous year I did camp but I was pitched in the corner between David Pink / Plumber Ted and Simes. :-k

Apologies David if I've got you mixed up with someone else...Shaun & Myself were in the two VW camper vans side by side.
I guess most are looking at this but holding off until they have an idea of the weather, number wise we have 7 vans penciled in, 3 of us are lampies, another has lamps. As I say, its all booked and yes, it would be great to see more from the club, however many commit, its going ahead either way.

Update on numbers, please just 'copy/paste & add your names to the list' or 'by all means' message me if you have questions, I can understand that this is new for most and there may be things you want to ask...still plenty of space.

NOT CANCELLED* but will obviously be under review and a decision made closer to the day. Much of this will obviously depend on Batemans and advice at that time.

Chin up guy's & gals XXXX
