Hello everyone, I'm new here. I am from Spain and I present to you my optimus 930 300 cp I have been in my mother's house for many years, they bought it at a street market and the truth is that I always got my attention but never paid attention to it. I wanted to get rid of her so I took on the challenge of trying to get her going. disassembling some pieces cleaning it thoroughly and the final result As I had the pressure pump with the broken leather, I pressurized it with a bicycle pump, when I threw paraffin I ditched one thing, I don't know if it's normal. with the valve closed, paraffin also came out. so disassemble the actuator and the needle and increase the height of the needle (I don't know if I did well) trying to seal it in the off position I also noticed that the paraffin came out like a jet to the tube j (I don't know if it's normal either, I thought it had to be sprayed) I finally got the lamp to stop coming out of the lamp and the nozzle looked like in the photos seen on the forum I put the mantle I found in a hardware store for gas lights and this is the result I do not have a problem, I have to put the valve half open or rather half closed so that it does not make flames if I put it in the open position, add unburned paraffin to the base of the lamp I have read that it works best with a 200 jet and maybe putting a copper washer in the tube j. Where could I find jets and needles for this lamp? Are they worth petromax? Could the mantles be used by anyone or is a specific one better? the leather of the bomb had thought to buy it in fettlebox greetings from galicia
Hello, and welcome to the forum. Your post was stuck in the moderation approval queu because you use a third party imge hosting. We don't want that, so please upload your pictures directly here in the future. I will upload the one already showing in this topic later when I'm at a computer, so don't worry about those.
Welcome aboard! Those lanterns do not have a positive shut off valve, the knob just operates the pricker rod and judging by your description the jet is slightly enlarged. The link below shows the operating instructions for that lantern, but the library is only open to subscribers. https://classicpressurelamps.com/threads/optimus-930-930a.6143/

Greetings from Sweden to You in Galicia! The Optimus 930 is a lantern of good quality. But if performing better than Petromax or not I cannot say. Regarding Mantles, any 200/250CP mantle would work fine. The serviceparts for it youll find at fogas.se SERVICESATS TILL OPTIMUS 930 Good luck with it! Regards from Sweden /Matti Kucer
