Hi all, This is the alcohol fed Wiktorin-Licht "Lilliput 8007" lamp from the company Wiktorin & Co. in Vienna. This lamp can be found in the Wiktorin 1910 and 1913 catalogues and the overall patent for these donut Wiktorin lamps, is from 1910. This lamp follow the Wiktorin lamp concept, with an angled fuel feed/generator arm, built-in pump for fuel to the pre heat cup and a round top mixing chamber. A well built lamp of 50 CP. My example did not perform so good, but enough for a photo session. /Conny 1910 patent...………………………..... 1913 catalogue image …………….... @Anthony Yes, a match, but I think you´ve got the middle sized Wiktorin nr. 8000 hanging lamp. /Conny
Wow duelling Wiktorins at 10 paces. Conny, Anthony's donut looks like it is nickelled or chromed. Did you have to strip your donut or was it plain brass when you found it? I'd pay money to see both your collection and Anthony's collection.
@Matty My lamp came in a nickel plated version. Most plating was gone so I decided to strip it. It came originally in three versions….nickel plated, brass or oxidized brass. Your welcome Matt, just a dollar admission ticket /Conny before……….
Conny, I am the same when it comes to assessing the condition of the nickel plating on a lamp. If I decide the nickel is too far gone, I strip the rest. In your case where the lamps were also sold as plain brass, it would have been an easy decision. Does a complimentary beer come with the ticket?
Conny, isn't there a law, new or old, in your country that prohibits the storage, keeping, owning and/or lighting more then one old gravity fed alcohol lamp/light or lantern ?
OMG Conny and Anthony, I’m totally gobsmacked. Your Wiktorin stand lamp makes my Tilley FS1 look like a piece of old firewood!
What a cool photo that is. Did you get the label made up? I reckon another collection worth seeing would be Christer's. He has a lot of nice looking carbide lamps too. I think you have a few yourself?
