Etching glass, DIY

    Hi fellas, can someone point me in the right direction, i have a Campway rebranded ashflash, the globe is broken, i do have a smaller globe with the logo on, i want to know if i can etch the logo onto a reproduction globe, and how to go about it.
    Any help or sugestions will be muchly appreciated.
    I have an ashflash, nomad, campway, just wat to make my collection look the part

    Hi Darryl, I do recall some time back looking at etching kits on Ebay, most likely in craft/hobby areas, it uses stencil letters and there is a chemical applied inside each stencil letter and it etches the glass, hope that starts off some help, you can use very fine sand in an air blaster using stencils, kind regards Frank

    HF, Hyrdrofluoric Acid is about all that will etch glass. Sandblasting is much safer.

    HF is nasty stuff - have to keep it in beeswax bottles since it eats it's way out of pretty much anything else.

    Please do not even consider trying to use HF at home. It is extremely hazardous.
