    Hi all,
    Last week I added a petromax style lamp to the fettle cabinet. I'm having a hard time finding info on this lamp. The build quality and markings on the bottom suggest it was made in the Hipolito factory.
    It belonged to a fisherman who used it during night time fishing on the beach. So it it heavily corroded unfortunately. I'm sure it will clean up nicely.
    Anyone got more info on this brand?
    Thanks!

    @Emiel
    The Petrolite is exactly the same as a Hipolito H-502 from the late eighties. Please do some research at Albatros Hengelsport in the Nederland. Maybe you can find out more about the Petrolite there.
    Regards Reinhard

    Today I contacted Albatros. They are a fishing gear wholesaler based in the Netherlands and I asked them what info they could share about the Petrolite lamp.
    Apparently Albatros imported this lamp from China (Hong Kong?) between 2000 and 2010. Petrolite was an existing brand and it was not branded exclusively for Albatros. Number (quantity) of imported lamps were unavailable.

    I'm impressed with the build quality knowing it is a modern China-made lamp.
    I'll post an update and money shot when the fettle is done and the lamp is running.

    I remember looking at the price of real Petromax lanterns and baulking at the cost so when I found not one but two Anchor lanterns in excellent condition I jumped at them. I have to say I wasn't disappointed.
