Coleman 220C, B-46 stamp on base of fount. Arrived in good condition, with original globe. Stripped, cleaned and re-assembled. Added new generator,. Running well on Silk-Lite mantles and Aspen 4 fuel.
Nice one @Alex Smith she’s in good nick and runs very well. I have recently fettled one of these, dated August 1945, and yes, they’re a joy to light and watch while imbibing a cold ale or 2. Cheers Pete
@AussiePete Right, or maybe three or four? You got to keep in shape, ya know... You never know when you will be asked to compete in a "case quiffing" contest!* All kidding aside, these are great runners and were still well made thru the 220/228D models. I really like the 220/228B models the most. You got a really nice one there. Treasure it, they will eventually be hard to find in nice condition. * Able to consume a whole case of ale and still walk a straight line.
@AussiePete and @george thank you for your complements. Of course I blame you both for my current Coleman fixation - between you you've shown me too many nice pictures of good looking lanterns! I've really enjoyed my last two fettles (228D and 220C). These are good, strong lanterns and easy to work on. My next fettle is a 220B that I took apart this afternoon! Stay safe, remain flexible!
@Alex Smith I happy to be instrumental in your Coleman fixation. You have done us delinquents proud. Cheers Pete
