Can anyone identify this large Coleman burner cap (ceramic), pictured here with a 242B burner cap? Tony
Weren't they used on a 236 at some stage? The identical design is used on the Primus 1060, which borrowed it's design from the 236.
According to Agostino they were often installed in 1953. I have them on a 237, a USA 249 and three Canada 249’s. They also came in a 242 size. @phaedrus42 has some of those.
Have one on a 200a, I believe 7/54 or 53 I need to double check. Not the same size but smaller version.
Have seen several 236's with this style of burner cap. I am sure I have a NOS one in an original Coleman packet with a 236 part number on it - I am not sure that I can easily find it though!!!!!
Size to me indicates probably 236/237 lanterns. It looks like it would be too big in diameter for a 200 or 242 type lantern.
Could be.... I would think any Coleman lantern around the same size of a 220 type or slightly larger.
I was thinking perhaps 237, I’m thinking that my 237 has one similar to this. I’ll check today. Cheers Pete
Definitely 237 (maybe others also) I have a 237 (7, 49) Canada with this Unfortunately this is how it came but interesting the curve of the holes (I surmise the curve of the holes would be from use not manufacture)
