Hi folks I had forgotten how good real tea can taste. With the normal busy hustle bustle of everyday life I had become so used to throwing a teabag into a mug for a cuppa. Now with more time on my hands because of the Covid 19 lockdown I have been brewing loose leave tea in a teapot. Both my wife and I agree it is a far more refreshing, fragrant and tasty beverage. Here you see my trusty “engine drivers” mug and Indian manufactured teapot purchased from the Bab Al-Bahrain souq in 2019. Take care, stay safe and drink proper tea! Regards Jeremy
I haven’t used a teabag in years. I have to regularly throw out the ones I have in my emergency camping supplies because they turn to dust. Teabags are an abomination in my humble opinion. Tony
I thought they were already filled with dust. Try opening a brand new teabag and the leaves are dramatically smaller than loose. Regards Jeremy
Have to get out the old tea ball, we have quite a bit of loose tea. We like it but we have our share of problems when it comes to the hands! We do make coffee fresh, no instant crap! That instant stuff reminds me of 10W30 weight motor oil! Thank God my wife is an excellent cook! I just hate to think what would be stuffed in my big mouth if she wasn't!!
Some very sensible opinions on this site. I suspect that a good number of members here fit in to a certain age group and social type....
When I lived in Hong Kong, and at work, all the girls (ahhhhhhh!) in the office all had loose tea little tea pots and these wonderful mugs/cups with lids on Once you make your tea and keep it in one of these, you will never go back to tea bags, pyramid or other abominations of marketing.
@george Tea balls have always been good. If I'm making one cup of tea I use these. Same principal as the ball

When I left school and started as an apprentice, we had our tea from pint pots (mugs). A very generous heaped teaspoon full of loose tea straight in to the pint pot, boiling water on top. A slosh Of milk, give it a stir, wait for it to settle and ready to imbibe. Some of the old boys would down the leaves with their last swig....
@BigStevie Nah .... its a photo from the internet. However its actually pretty close to a scene from my earlier youth, just a few years ago, , from when we used to dos down in shearing sheds. After a day's hard yakka, good cuppa, good tucker, some liquid sleep potion and a good swag = a good time. How is the virus affecting you guys up there? Cheers Pete
@BigStevie I have done that on occasions, but never intentionally! @AussiePete My Grandmother on my Fathers side always drank her tea black. Personally I prefer just a small splash of the old semi skimmed with mine. Regards Jeremy
I already find the taste of teabag-tea better when the water is boiled on a Coleman Speedmaster in the workshop, so I guess it's time to go to next flavour level and go loose! Mike.
