Petromax preheater lever spring

Hi all,
While fettling up an old Petromax lookalike found a broken spring in the preheater lever. Now it doesn't snap in place anymore and does not press the seat on the nozzle to counter the pressure.
All I found was a complete lever assembly as a replacement at my local petromax parts shops. Anyone has a source for just the spring?

I never saw a single spring offered.
Most likely a new lever assembly must be used.

You might get lucky in a local hardware store that has an assortment of tension-springs. Perhaps one of those might fit.
