Ooh, that's fightin' talk! You'll have Gary's wife to contend with - not only is she a catering supervisor, I can vouch for the standard of her cooking. Tickets for the bout available from me, although it shouldn't last too long...
I'm ready for a challenge. LOL . . . English, Mexican, Indian, Chinese. Italian. You name it I'll cook it. Oh and My latest speciality is Indonesian. All cooked with PARAFFIN POWER I might add
Gentlemen This years food will be a proper north east broth made with a ham shank and served with stotties. Tracey only cooks for cold hard cash so it'll be me doing the cooking again this year, guaranteed to be the next best thing to ambrosia. Ask Big Si last year he ate his weight in Chilli
I had in mind a Balinese Chicken curry. Anyone wishing to sample it will be very welcome. I'm pretty sure you won't be disappointed
Yum! If I wasn't 3000 miles away I'd be there. The fare sounds delicious (and I don't even know what a stottie is ) Lamps, great food, great people, intimate atmosphere, and .... ... entertainment! Dan
My main hobbies are Bonsai, pressure lamps and, cooking so the opportunity to combine two out of three is not to.be missed
Countdown has started. Remember to bring your trade items and something to display. Should be a good turnout.
Well Gary I'm a total newby. (This will be my first ever meet so be gentle with me ) I dont have a lot to display or trade but I will be there and I will be making an effor. Very much looking forward to it. Ozz
Yes indeed.(Well I think it's more he's bringing me). Chris, David Shouksmith and myself are all bringing a Pig Heater and intend to light all three together.( Three little pigs ) I think we are having a Pig Off
Ah, my IF54 restoration suffered a major set-back recently and it's now unlikely to be appearing - certainly not in one piece...
Oh dear David that's unfortunate, Never mind You'll just have to eat more curry, Broth or Chilli to take your mind off it
Well, we're kind of back on track now, me and my IF54, although there's still a bit of fettling to do. It won't be winning any concours d'elegance any time soon, but at least it should all screw back together now and chuck out a bit of heat - which is kind of the point... Sounds more like a pig-out if you ask me - curry, broth and chilli... Given it's Burns Night tomorrow, I was thinking of bringing some haggis, neeps and tatties to the Meet. Maybe a little whisky, too, and some Shepherd Neame Burns Ale. Och aye, there should be a fair wind blowin' up, nae doot aboot it...
I'm on the lookout for :- A globe for a Coleman Model 249 A KL80 smoke bell A Gallery burner and 182 globe for a Tilley Table lamp Air buttons for a PL53 A copper reflector for my IF54 A comlpete Al15 in mint condition for a fiver AND Someone to polish my lamps for free. Anyone who is going to the UK winter meet with any of the above will find me extreamly grateful Cheers Ozz
Thanks to Gary & family for a great weekend. Great display from Ozzy & Chris! Hopefully someone will post some pics soon.
Realy enjoyed the meet. Thanks Gary and Tracy. Would loved to have stayed longer but Had to get home due to Wife recovering from an operation. Heres some pics.
Distinct lack of lampie-types when I was there - bah! Thus the much vaunted three little piggie IF54 light-up didn't occur. Still:-
Yes David pity the three piggies didn't get lit together. Guess we did'nt organise ourselves too well Still lovely restoration job David. We shall have to make another date. And you missed my Balinese curry
Well, you're seeing only the front of it, Ozzy! I'd hoped to see your heater and Chris's to get an idea of how I need to complete mine. But it'll have to come apart again for some serious tin-bashing to the suspension strut. After that, I'll need to do a better preparation and respray of the tank. Another date would be good but give it a few months! And I heard that [strike]fat bas[/strike], er, Big Si ate my curry...
