Thought I’d give it a clean up and light whilst on furlough,l particularly like the pricker assembly on this model.
Thanks @george thanks @BigStevie,I bought it thinking it was a 350,but then noticed the “ring pull” pricker.
@Greenboy23 Awwww Mate!!! ....... This 9955 of yours really “floats my boat”. I’m totally in lust with it. It’s a fine example and I’m sure that you want my address so you can send it to me. Enjoy. Cheers Pete P.S. Wow!!!! ....... now I’m dribbling!!
Dribbling members? Leaky orifices? This forum is starting to feel like a French farce... but totally in a good way. I've not laughed so hard in days! Oh, and your lantern is absolutely spot on @Greenboy23 - I'm green with envy! (Badum tish)
@David Shouksmith My orifice isn’t dribbling, l always tighten up my nuts first. This ensures that no fuel leaks out and causes a calamitous fire ball. Agree Colin, a good giggle by all. Cheers Pete
That reminds me - I've got a leaking gland I need to attend to. Thanks for jogging my memory, Pete...
@David Shouksmith Don’t you just hate it when you discover your gland is leaking? You now know what to tighten to cure the problem .... Of course, you could get someone to give you hand. Cheers Pete
.... Anyway that is a very fine lantern ! ... And seems to work fine, too Did you have to do much fettling or was it more of a clean and service? Just out of interest, what mantle was used here? Cheers!
No not much of a fettle,it has been looked after,I changed the seals and gave it a clean, the mantle is a peerless 300 cp.
Oh please stop showing such lovely lanterns - it and a Veritas 350 have all been added to my ever expanding lantern list! Good job BTW, you must be pleased, she looks good.
@Greenboy23 I’m still in love with your 9955 ...... it’s simply a beautiful lantern. I’m gunna have to redouble my efforts to find one. Enjoy Cheers Pete
@David Shouksmith Ahhh, I was smart this morning, being Thursday morning here in Aussie, I’m wearing a bib. just seen yours, now I gotta change my bib ......
