I notice you have 3 Veritas 350s there. Do they run ok? And what mantles do you use on them?

@Alex74 No Veritas sadly, they are on my "shopping list".

Here I'm running (from front left, around to front right) Coleman 252 Milspec 1944, Coleman 220C, 1946, US Military Akron 132-42, and US Mil Akron 132-42 with a 1944 Mil-spec burner conversion. All running Aspen 4, using #21 Silk-lite mantles.

Interesting collection of fine and unusual lamps. Well fettled too. Thanks for sharing. I got inspired to light a few up tonight and play guitar in the garden.

Great looking lineup, Alex. Those '44 252 Milspecs have "The Look"! The Canadian Air Force's aerobatic team--The Snowbirds--flew by our house yesterday to lift people's spirits during the pandemic and to commemorate the end of the Second World War. It felt good.

@Alex74 Hope you had a nice evening. I do like your lamp hanger. Out of interest, what have you got running? I can see a Tilley and a Bialaddin, but not sure what your other two are.

@MikeO Thank you. I do enjoy running these milspecs. Re Snowbirds, I bet that was fantastic. We were luck enough to see the RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Spitfire and Hurricane last week when they did the Capt Tom Moore birthday fly past. We live about 10 miles North. It was close enough to hear the Merlin engines, now they make a sound!

At least the European part of it, which was no mean feat. There is still a few months to VJ day though. Pedantic I know, but we tend to concentrate on our own neighbourhood.

No, not pedantic at all. My mistake pushing history ahead 3 and half months or so.

Tony, I know he served in the South Pacific and was at Guam and of course Hawaii (US Navy, Hqtrs Pacific Fleet). He was on an aircraft carrier but which one I don't know. He was an aircraft mechanic.
You got me wondering now... I going to have to dig into this.

Apologies. Seems my eaelier reply didn't get saved.
The bag survived from familiy round trip to Great Britain in 2015. From Bristol to Inverness, from Berwick to Tintagel.

And now its kept as perfect Storage for thw Tilley lantern.

    Regards.
    Willi
